Dollar Tree and Goodwill Creations

I love succulents. They are beautiful and very hard to kill. These are my kind of plants. I am also addicted to Pinterest. This Post is inspired by the beautiful succulent plant arrangements I view on Pinterest. I went to my local Dollar Tree Store and picked up some supplies

1 Bag  of each Small rocks and Large Rocks

1 Bag of  moss ( it includes three types) .

1 container of Aqua Beads

Next , I head to my local Goodwill and pick up containers that are half price that day. I can pick up a container for $2-$3. The most you will pay at Goodwill is about $7 for a container. It really depends what you are looking for. 

Once I have purchased my supplies , I come home a create some amazing arrangements. I make sure that I clean the containers before I begin. 

I fill the containers with a layer of large rocks , then layer small rocks on top. I move the rocks around until I get the desired look I want. 

Then I add the thick moss on top of the rocks.  I make sure that I press the moss down so I get a nice layered look going on from the side views. 

Then once I have pressed the thicker moss down I add some aqua beads. These beads can be purchased at the Dollar Store as well. They are a substitute for soil. They retain moister , when they shrink it is time to water your plant . 

Once I had added about a 1/2 cup of aqua beads ,  I add my next layer to moss, which is finer in texture and brighter in color. 

With 1 bag of small rocks , 2 bags of large rocks, and 1 bag of moss; I was able to make three arrangement containers.

Now time to add the succulents. I clip succulents from my mothers garden. 

She is my supplier ( Wink , Wink ) . Thanks mom. 

Once I have about 6 to 8 clippings, arrange them in the pot. I use bobby pins to hold them in place. I move them around until I get the desired look. 

I also add ribbon or decorative craft tape to give it a finished appearance. 

Here is the finished product. It took me about 20 minute to complete it. I had all the supplies ready to go . it is a great gift for anyone. I made a few for friends and the ladies at the front office. I can't wait to see what everyone makes. Talk to you all soon.

I am addicted to Pintrest. I just love all the cool things i have found. Yet , i have not made very many of them . I have tried a few recipes and have not had a bad one yet. I feel like PIntrest keeps me in the loop with all the old and new craft projects.

I will be crafting again. I recently started working on mustache glasses for a friend. They are very popular . I have some weird obsession with mustaches. You shouldn't be shocked if you get a gift from me with a mustache on it.

I am going to start blogging more, is there anything that anyone would like to see on the blog?

I cant wait to hear from my only follower .......Rachel!! hahah I need to get my blog out there!!

Family Reunion

My family reunion is approaching and I have been thinking of making a t-shirt with a family tree on it. I was going through my fabric and I came across my favorite sock monkey fabric. Then I came up with a brilliant idea to use the sock monkey squares as pictures of my family. With in an hour , I created this master pieces. I love when I have creative  energy !!!

S'more Pops

I found a super cute idea from http://bestfriendsforfrosting.com

They have a recipe  for S'mores  on a stick. Basically you are dipping a marshmallow in melted chocolate then rolling it in graham cracker crumbs. Yummy!! Check out the link for recipe!!

S'mores in a Jar!!

Well I could not pass this up. I love , love , love s'mores. 

I found this recipe , but I have never tried it. 

My mother and sister-in-law did and it was a success.

 If you didn't want to make it in the jar , my sister -in-law made it in a simple square cake pan.

Great, Unique Gift Idea!!

I made these for christmas for my brother . I had a blast making them so i made 10 extra . I have used them for hostess gifts , and birthday gifts. I am thinking it is a great idea for Father's Day too. I followed the direction from :
Tater tots and Jello Blog.
I used this template of mustache picture from :
 ( Blog that has the mustaches printable).
 I printed them and taped them on the inside of the glass. It gave me a great template.
I also bought my glasses at Dollar tree. They use the same glassware they sell at Cost plus .

I enjoy giving a great party. Sometimes it is the littlest detail that really makes a great party. I found this website that has a ton of great ideas from Goldilocks and the Three Bears  to a Ninja birthday party. I would bookmark this blog. It is my go to party idea. I also know some of the ideas are extravagant , but if you can pull a few cute things , it can really make a great party. Enjoy !

Not sure if you want to get rid of that t-shirt ??? Turn it into a pillow!!

I have several t-shirts form New York, Boston, DC , and Disney Land that i no longer wear .  I never know what to do with all of them . I don't want to get rid of them because they are so cute, yet I am over wearing them. So I found this cute idea. You can do this with any t-shirt. Very simple . These are great ideas for kids who need a comfort pillows while they are away at camp or at the grandparents. I made my mom one from an old I love NYC,  and she loves it ( she's my moms so she has to love everything I make her). They also make great gifts. If you want to make your washable , instead of sewing it shut , sew in a 4 inch piece of velcro . That will allow you to take it off to wash.  If you need a shirt to make this pillow , go to the 99 cent store . Wash it before you sew it.
